About the Project
When FixAworks approached me in 2024, they had a simple vision: to create a platform that seamlessly connects homeowners with skilled tradies for repairs and home improvement projects. More than just a booking service, FixAworks aimed to be a complete ecosystem—streamlining the entire process, from finding and hiring tradies to managing ongoing projects and ensuring a high-quality user experience.
To bring this vision to life, I conducted extensive research into the challenges of connecting service providers with homeowners. Through user interviews and market analysis, I gained insights into the hurdles both tradies and homeowners face, such as trust, communication, and efficiency. My research also highlighted the fragmented nature of the current process, often relying on word-of-mouth and outdated methods. This understanding guided my design process, ensuring that FixAworks became a seamless, reliable solution for all. 🚀✨
The Challenge
FixAworks set out to revolutionize the home services industry by creating a platform that seamlessly connects homeowners with trusted tradies. However, this ambitious vision came with several challenges:
Diverse Needs: The platform needed to cater to two distinct user groups—homeowners looking for reliable services and tradies seeking job opportunities—while maintaining a consistent and brand-aligned interface.
Trust and Reliability: Building credibility between users and tradies required incorporating features like portfolios, reviews, and secure payment methods into the design.
Scalable and Flexible Design: The design had to accommodate the addition of new service categories and future growth while remaining responsive and visually appealing across devices.
These challenges required creative problem-solving and a deep understanding of both user and business needs to create a cohesive, reliable, and scalable platform. 🚀✨
The Design
I built on the foundation that both categories of users should be able to have a seamless experience on the app. Users can easily submit job requests, track quotes, and access tradie profiles with ratings and reviews, all in a clean, responsive interface optimized for convenience. Real-time notifications and an organized history of past and ongoing jobs ensure a hassle-free process.
For tradies, the design emphasizes professionalism and efficiency. The dashboard allows them to showcase portfolios, manage schedules, and track earnings with ease. Features like job matching, performance insights, and simplified workflows empower tradies to focus on their work while growing their business.
Together, these designs create a platform that bridges the gap between homeowners and tradies, fostering reliability, transparency, and seamless collaboration. 🚀✨
